The Staff Selection Commission [SSC] conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination [CGL] examination for the recruitment of staff for the posts in the various departments, ministries, and organizations of the Government of India.

6. ST/SC/OBC [Category Certificate as prescribed by the Govt. Of India
7. NOC (Non Objection Certificate) in case of Govt. Employee
8. Discharge Certificate (For Ex. Servicemen)
9. A Duly Filled Post Preference Option form
10. Original ID Proof
11. 2 passport Size Photographs
12. Photocopies of all the above mentioned certificates/ Documents-Self Attested
Pattern for SSC CGL Exam

The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts the SSC CGL examination in four states:

  1. Tier-I
  2. Tier-II
  3. Tier-III
  4. Tier-IV

The exam is conducted online and is a pen and paper based exam. Tier-IV is a computer skill test.

Two Steps in Exam 1.DEST Test: Type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English, to check the candidates Writing Skills.    
2. CPT Test: Check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides  
Important Instructions and List of Prohibited Material & Items in the Exam Hall as per SSC Guidelines

1. The Staff Selection Commission prohibits the students from carrying the below-listed items inside the examination hall. These items are banned in the hall.

a. Bags/Pen/ Mobile Phones/Watches/ Books/Paper Chits/ Magazines/

 b. Electronic Gadgets:

 Bluetooth Devices

 Headphones

 Buttonhole Cameras

 Hand-held Scanner

 Calculator (Unless Specified)

 Storage Devices

 Pen Camera etc

2. A candidate is not allowed to carry the gadgets, in the examination hall, even if it is switched off.

3. Candidates found with these above-stated items will have their candidature cancelled, and the committee can place criminal/legal proceedings. The candidate will be restricted from appearing the examination in the future for 3 years period with the commission.

4. No reading materials are allowed to be carried, and the committee is not responsible for it. No books or magazines, newspaper, paper chits are allowed.

5. Candidates should not wear the following items:

  Charms Veil Metals’ item such as Rings, Earrings, Hair Pin, Bracelet, Nose-Pin, Pendants, Badge, Broach, Necklace, Chains, and Hair Band, Clothes with full sleeves or Big Buttons, etc

6. Candidates are recommended to wear open footwear, which can be opened easily when requested.

7. Candidates should reach the examination hall one hour before the exam time.

8. A Candidate is not allowed to appear for SSC CGL examination more than once. If identified, the candidate will be disqualified, and the candidature will be cancelled for 3 years.

9. Candidates indulging in misbehaviour or disturbance in the examination hall can be barred from appearing in future examinations. Legal/Criminal proceedings can be initiated by the committee.
